Acro-balance family workshop with Ashtar Muallem  

A fun and interactive Acro Yoga workshop designed for one adult and one child (ages 3-10), combining circus games and pair yoga techniques. This session offers a unique opportunity for parents/guardians and children to bond, play, and explore movement together.  

The adults will learn fun and simple acrobatic lifts to perform with their children in a workshop designed to foster trust, coordination, and connection in a joyful atmosphere.  

Led by dance and circus artist and yoga trainer Ashtar Muallem, the session lasts 1 hour. 

Supported by Ruth Kent, Dance North’s Participation Lead, this workshop promises a delightful adventure for everyone aged 3 years and up.

Please note that this workshop requires a booking ratio of 1 adult to 1 child. This means if you wish to bring multiple children, you will need to make a separate booking for each child, each accompanied by a dedicated adult. Space is limited to 10 groups (10 adults and 10 children).  

Remember, adults must bring a child and children must bring an adult!

About the artist:  

Ashtar Muallem is a Franco-Palestinian artist born in Jerusalem in 1990, working on the intersection between circus, dance, and theatre. She began performing in Palestinian productions like Al Fawanees and Circus Behind the Wall at a young age. She is a graduate from the National Center for Circus Arts (CNAC) in 2011 in France, specializing in aerial silks. She expanded her skills into contortion and has since created shows such as B-Orders and Enheduanna. She has collaborated with renowned companies, including Les Ballets C de la B and Circus Cirkör.
